Hi! Welcome to our mountains! You are in Valmadrera, Cappelletta V.A.R.S., the historical starting point to reach the mountains above our town. From this point you can admire our wonderful mountains: Resegone, San Martino, Barro and the Brianza Lake District.
Staring at such a beauty with your eyes wide open, you can start dreaming…
You have chosen to go uphill to the cabin Sev Pianezzo- Corni di Canzo, mountain trail number 7.
It is a standard path, easy enjoyable allover the year (in winter ski sticks may be required in case of snow), you just need a little training, because there are some steep gradients and you could get to the peak out of breath and with low blood sugar, if you are out of condition.
You need about 2 hours and 30 minutes to cover the distance of 4,7 Kms, so please adjust your energy and strength.
This is what is awaiting you!
Before you start walking, if you don’t want to find the refuge closed at your arrival,
WE REMIND YOU THAT:
The refuge is run by the volunteers of ASD S.E.V. Valmadrera, who work in 5 shifts, plus a team on Wednesday.
OPENING:
-
Every Weekend from 11 on Saturdays to 17 on Sundays
-
Every Midweek Holiday
-
On Wednesdays from March to October
-
Every day in August
You will go through the wood for most of your walk, then you will reach Sambrosera, typical stopping point and crossroad of many paths, this is also the only place where you can supply with water. Here you can also see the traditional “casote” and “milk cabins”, then you will walk a steep path and reach “Techh di Port”, an old natural shelter used in the past by the farmers of Valmadrera. Then the trail opens with a fabulous view below the eastern peak and you will reach the little village Moregge, where you can admire another wonderful landscape: Mount Moregallo, Brianza lecchese and Lake Lecco. This view point is always windy, if you get hot don’t forget to cover yourself up, or you might catch a cold.
From here a short ascent let you see in the distance the white refuge Sev, with its green roof. You will reach the refuge from the grass in front of it and you can see on your left the chapel consecrated in memory of all who died in the mountains, in the background Mount Grigna.
What about it? Does the idea to get to the mountaintop whet you? Or a hot meal at your arrival? What about a hard climbing to admire a fabulous landscape?
Stir yourself! Move your legs and your desire to reach the top of the mountain!
A breathtaking landscape and the warm welcome of the people in the cabin are waiting for you!
HAVE A NICE WALK!
